Black plastic sucks???

I just got a 06 450r and its not even all black just the gas tank is and it gets scratched up so bad. what can you do besides a graphics kit to prevent this? Plus i wear a knee brace and that makes it even worse.

whipe it down with armour-all (it hides the scratches pretty well)

short of graphics (that will come off in a year) not much you can do with the stocker.

you can get aftermarket white/clear tanks, they still scratch just dont notice as much.

I have seen people use that grip stuff they sell in sheets for the gas tank.

Stomp makes some stuff that covers half the gas tank, I don't really like the look of it but would work really well.

maxima makes a spray called SC1.it's for fenders.your fender's will look new after use of this product.

Looks great when it's new but, after that you want to cry... My brother in law has an 04 450r and it's in red. The red doesn't look as bad as the black....

Just remember.... black when it fades and gets scratched will look like faded black, or like mine is now.... flat black, I like it better now actually...


Red on the other hand... it fades to pink! :p
