Well im right down here in GA near the FL line. The fires are burning right along and the firefighters cant really get thier equipment back into the deep woods, plus its dry as kindling here.
Im right above the GA/FL border and Kickstarts-suck is right below it.
Heres a article from tonights newspaper.

High winds whip swamp fire into Florida
By RON WORD
The Associated Press
Authorities evacuated about 300 homes in north Florida on
Tuesday as two fires totaling 130,000 acres continued to
rage on the Georgia-Florida border. Florida officials warned that they might soon need help if the blazes grow out of control.
Meanwhile, officials prepared to evacuate staff in
Georgia’s Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge as
the largest recorded blaze in state history neared part of the
park that has served as a fire crew command post.
Florida is already under a fire-induced state of emergency,
with high wind and tinder-dry conditions spawning
some 210 blazes over 43,500 acres. So far no injuries have
been reported, and only a handful of houses and other
buildings have been destroyed or damaged.
“We’re beginning to be stretched pretty thin,” said Jim
Harrell, a state Division of Forestry spokesman. “If the
fire from Georgia becomes significant, in other words they
don’t make headway on it today, then it will be very close
to being beyond our capability. We’re probably going to have
to ask for some help.” Florida officials issued a ban Tuesday on yard waste burning, and Gov. Charlie Crist urged caution.
“The important message is to be careful, careful with fire,”
Crist said. “Florida’s going to be fine, we’ve just got to be
smart and be careful.” Two big fires are burning in
southern Georgia about 10 miles apart — one covering
about 107,365 acres, another 40,139 acres. The smaller one had already crossed the Florida border by Tuesday afternoon.

A pic taken about an hour west of me from the local news. Went down south to Jacksonville, FL last weekend. Air was kinda smokey on I 95 and had small bits of ash falling on the car. Hasnt been to bad here because we're on the ocean and the inland breeze has been pushing the smoke back from us.

Stuff seems really dry. 2 weeks ago I was doing fire works. One bottle rocket shot into my field and it started on fire. I didn't know till about 5 minuets and the fire was right by a bunch of dead pine trees. I'm lucky I saw it in time because it was spreading fast :eek2: I saw the fire when I was standing by my house and once I saw the fire I started running down the road to try to put it out and my friends like don't put it out I want to see lol We were about to go in the house before I seen the fire too. That would have been bad if we did :eek2: :scary:
