what it really does is give you a better look at the wheels and also people do it for the looks.

to elaborate on that, the more mud that cakes on the fenders, the more weight there is.

Dude, this is a prime example of why people should pay attention in English class.

Also, people cut their fenders mostly for looks and to see where the front tires are going on the face and landings of jumps. Helps you steer out and away from ruts and such.
