outlaw 500 transmission problems??

i have a 06 outlaw 500 and it has about 40 hrs of ride time. When you crank down on it in 4th gear then switch to 5th and crank down on it, it switches back to 4th by itself for about 1/2 a second then goes right back into 5th. It does this occasionally but not every time. Has any one else had a problem like this? thanks for the help!

If it is still under warranty take it in. Sounds like, one the gears dog is busted. The longer you delay the more it will cost to fix.

thanks. but if it was a gear cog wouldnt it do it everytime? it only does it about 30% of the time.

Just the early stages of tranny failure. I'd take her in before you do greater damage.

One of the dog may just be crack now once it brakes off you are talking major money. I just spent $3176.95 because I f-up a valve adjustment, one jam nut went trough my engine. I hade to buy new engine case and head and valve cover and many little valve train parts. Save money get it check out ASAP
