Gun, itll be there for wayyy longer than any exhaust system if you take care of it.

Plus youll still have the gun, but if you get the exhaust, then you get rid of your ride, then your exhaust is gone...

:ermm: ...easy desicion for me bro....

Gun, I got an AR-15 .223, 5.56. They're a lot of fun.

.223's are fun for sub 500 yard shots, but if you want to AT&T (reach out and touch) something, go with a 7.62.

I have an AR-15 A4 with all the goodies I had in Iraq (IR/Red Lazer, Acog, rails, Surefire forehand grip light, Beta-C Mag, etc) and a Remington 700 PSS w/ a Leupold that cost more than my first car, lol.

5.56 is fun, great for most ranges, but if you are lucky enough to own a lot of land or have a 700+ range near your house, get the 7.62.

well I use my AR for reactive shooting and such. Basically just to keep in practice for when I go back to Iraq. The 700 PSS I mainly use for targets. I can repeatedly hit a target at 1000+ (with match ammo and a little luck, lol). I have Remington 1187 20 gauge for deer but I'm not a fan of deer meet so I don't hunt those. Mainly just targets. I've hit birds and squirles at 500 yards with the 700 though. There's nothing like long range shooting.

I even have an air rifle that can hit a bird at 150 yards... with a pellet :D

I like the Mini 14 .223. I have shot it and it is a pretty accurate gun and comfortable to hold. It would be a good choice, and something you can hand down to your son in the future, the exhaust you probably will not be able to, lol.

With a .223, no deer, elk, bear, or moose.

They're good for squirrels, rabbits, varmint, coyote, target, ect...

The .223 doesn't even work that well in Iraq, lol. Anything bigger than a small dog I'd go for the 7.62 if you want to hunt.
