people claim its tough but ive seen many done it has the power easily the reason ppl prolly say its tough is cuz they just spin the tires when they try just lean back or put foot on grab bar try it on pavement to

i ride them all over the place at the dunes... i think it is a great wheelie bike... whenever we're going up a dune and it plains off, i dont have to do anything but stay on the gas and it will wheelie and i'll ride it out for a while... i can ride a wheelie up the various comp hills as well... and on flat ground it is pretty to ride them as well... 3rd gear wheelies are no problem at all, and im thinking that i can ride them in 4th as well...

no problem getting the front end up, nor leaving it up for a while...

I can do 5th gear on my bike. I just stand up and lean back and the front end comes right up.

easy to get the front end up, but i've had friends that can't ride wheelies long on it. its just how good you are on the bike.:D :D

mine wheelies great! i just put it in 4th gear, stand up on the pegs lean back and nail it. even in sand with razr 2s its easy to wheelie and i can ride it for a longgg time just working the throttle. its a great wheelie bike but somewhat hard to get up when compared to a 450r, since it sits lower.

plus the front ends on the 450rs are lighter

dude, if you're basing on buying a wheeler because of its wheelie capabilities, you're an idiot.....it's a 450, if you can't do a wheelie on any 450, you shouldn't be riding one at all.

I have a 07 and its pretty hard to learn to wheelie it. The power is so torquie sp but you get use to it.

Wheelies are mostly rider!! If you can ride a wheelie you can ride a wheelie on a yf or anything!! A freind has a 07 yf and the first time I got to ride it I rode a wheelie for 200yrds. like nothin. I noticed that slow wheelies were a little harder on the yf compared to the trx but still easy.

wheelies are almost all rider, I can ride one just as far on my wifes stock 250ex as I can my 450r.
once you get the balance point and brake brush down you can ride one until your bored or run out of room.

I am hardcore awesome at riding a wheelie on a 250EX. I was able to ride them next to my dad, while he walked. Now, that I got my YFZ, my slow wheelies are MUCH harder. It might be because I hit my grab bar, and it made me sad. But, they are harder to do on this bike, than what I used to have. Fast wheelies are harder, but if you know how to do them, you can still do just as good on these bikes, if that makes sense. <3

depends on what you do more, slow/fast wheelies
I like 3rd/4th gear on the 450r, the gears are taller and you can hold it up with power without rear brake and it comes down just by letting off the gas and motor brakeing

I think anything can wheelie really. Its mostly rider ability, and not getting scared. Most balance points feel like your gonna tip back.

its not as easy to get up as say a 400, but its by no means hard. and once you get it up, depending on your skill, you can ride it forever. i can ride them slow or fast until i get bored or run out of room.

the only problem with the yfz wheelies is the way the power comes on (kind of like a 2 stroke)
it has a hard hit that wants to turn the tires loose, or if your up on a wheelie it jumps back fast,

try 3rd gear, it isnt quite as harsh when the power hits.

I have only rode 2 yfz's so im not an expert but both felt this way.

(I like power delivery better on my r but corners on the yfz are alot better )

why are yfz's power better for corners? i mean i know there more stable but what does the way the power comes on have to do anything?

power has to be controled, there are atv's with 60+ hp on a dyno but they can be beat by say a 50 hp that puts more power to the ground that is usable (not waisted in wheel spin)

to me the yfz is easier to slide because it has the hit that lets you break the rear loose but keep it where you want it.

(any motor can be modded to change the delivery)
I think it has to do with the extra valve making it like the upper rpm range

Ohh so what your saying is it bassicly revs quicker allowing the power to like spike out easier so u can corner and spin your tires more etc

wheelies are all about the rider. i can ride a wheelie on almost anything. even big utes. all about confidence. i can jump on most quads and be shiftin through wheelies in no time. yfz are hard to do a slow wheelie on, but overall easy to wheelie.
