I know guys have used the YT12 as a replacement as it has many ore CCA than stock, but the YT14 is the same physical size, with even MORE cca, would this be necessarily a bad thing? its 30 bucks more, would it be worth it?

Stock battery has never done me wrong, but the least expensive is the best for me. Like this (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Honda-400ex-ATV-Battery-YTX9BS-YTX9-BS-12-Mon-Warranty_W0QQitemZ130111059962QQihZ003QQcategoryZ4 3976QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)

The YTZ battery is 5mm taller. You would have to fab up you existing box or make a new one.
YTZ 150mm x 87mm x 110mm
YT12 150mm x 87mm x 105mm
