the show was hosted by www.dubsinthebuff.com and was located 45mins outside buffalo.

Dub's from buffalo, ohio, pittsburgh, toronto/hamilton area, and all over new york state.

rided out? not even close, granted there are the random idiots that rice out cars, but ricers are asian cars not german cars there buddy. and plus these cars arent dyno queens they can actually but power to the ground.

and that rabbit is one of the nicest cars ive ever scene, what u dont realize is that the purple one weighs around 1,000lbs with the driver.

When was this? There is also a show called waterfest too correct? My buddy who is a die hard VW guy, has basically convinced me to get a VW now, I will be getting a new GTI MKV in the next month or so, his will be in beginning of june the lucky bastad.

yes waterfest is about 200 times bigger then this show. theres also june jitterbug in niagara falls ontario and dubs on the lake in maryland towards the end of may

this show was this past sunday the 6th i beleive at evangola state park.


and good choice on the mark 5 gti's them and the new passat wagans are the only mark 5's i like. 2.0t, or vr6?

Are you sure about that? Just curious if they had proof. It just seem's there would not be much left of the car if it was. I know this vw weight's 1000lbs. with driver. :p

im not exactly sure on the exact weight, but the windows are all plexiglass, its completly stripped down and i mean everything. i know its very close to 1,000lbs

I will if I have the car by then. Im waiting for local dealers to get back to me with what they have, and Im trying to save for a larger down payment.

Also now that I think about it, I probably wont get the chip until the waterfest show, I know a few guys who stop and buy them, and have them installed on the way down. Salisbury VW has a special on them that week, and it takes them about 15 minutes to install them. Sweet deal!

Vette's look a hell of a lot better than the rabbits do and are still fast as hell, so i'll sacrifice the tenths.

i need proof about the 1000lb car because we have a GTI w/ 385hp and it weighed 2250 stripped of everything and lexan windows. 26lb of boost and 11.3 in the quarter mile.:macho

I could see about 1600lbs. with no driver if it was stripped to nothing. But who knows.... :confused:

I know that Bug in my post above was stripped to nothing. It only had enough wiring to make it run, fiberglass fenders and hood, no engine cover, one seat, etc. The wheels and tires weigh about 18lbs. a piece.

this is my beast of a vw race car. weighs in at about 1180 with 5 galons of gas and 4 quarts of motor oil and 2 quarts of tranny fluid. without that hood ordament with the hat.

ya and a rabbit is still alot lighter then a gti, and damn he's pushin alot of boost, is it a vr?


and to the vette fans out there you can buy your $50k+ vettes ill buy a rabbit for 3k dumb 5k in the motor, paint it purple and laugh when i pass you. and say " yup its only a 4cyl."

umm the turbo is from APR stage 3.it has a computer that lets you select from 3 different settings based on octane of fuel. it advances timing, etc. 89octane-15lb. 93octane-20lb, 110octane-26lb.

sweet pics, im into vdubbs too. i am in the process(taking forever) of selling my current suv and 450r to pick up a mk4 jetta 1.8t. i love the look of them with some minor mods, and the gas mileage will be a saviour....im kind of leery about owning a dubb after hearing all of the "vw=unreliable and expensive" talk but i still think i may pull the trigger if i can find one for a good deal. my only other options would be a 2.5 altima(too friggin popular) or a suburu wrx(most are out of my price range and insurance would be a killer)

this is my dream car.....i love this thing.

My buddy has an 03 he is selling right now, his new GTI is coming in a couple weeks. It is one of the nicest cars I have seen, he is ridiculously meticulous with how it is kept up. It is APR chipped and hauls ***, still gets 30mpg. PM if you're interested.

Heres an older pic I found of it, looks exactly the same except I think the factory grill is back in it. The wheels are included with new tires on it, brand new pads and rotors all around, the car rips!!! I believe it has 105,000 on it and he was asking $8700. I thought that was a lot for a car with miles like that, but I have not been around V-dubs long, they hold their resale value insanely!:eek2: They are all highway miles on it, and he has always run mobil 0w-40 in for its whole life. Car is meticulous inside and out! I'll see if I can find his cardomain tomorrow, I cant find it now and cardomain is acting up.

yeah thats real hot, just looking for something with half those miles. i think the vdubbs are some of the best looking cars on the road for the price....its between the altima and jetta for me. whichever i chose itll get some coilovers and black rims for sure.

I was very close to purchasing this car myself, and I told him I was getting those rims powdercoated stealth black... it would have looked awesome on that car. Im getting a GTI soon! His should be here soon too.
