I emailed hotcams and for those of you running stage two cams, it's .25 for the exhuast and .20 for the intake.

well, just adjusted mine and .008/.010 was probably about where they were and damn were they noisy, Ive heard lots of people run stock specs with the stg 2, I put it at a loose stock spec, still noisy but not horrible.

I have a quick question about your stage II cam, what is the valve
clearance on it for the 400EX? I was told it was stock, but that
doesn't make since. If you could email me back and let me know, it
would be great.

Thanks,
Justin Rodriguez

I didnt say I didnt believe you that they told you that but no way Im running them that loose, NOISY, with the amount of people running stock valve lash and the previous owner of my bike running stock with no problems im gonna continue to run stock specs and have at least a somewhat quiet ride.

I wasn't aiming it at you, I was just posting the email so that people would know.

alright, i just figured that since you already thought I was a dick, and then it cam up different from what others said, that was meant as sort of a "haha dickhead, you were running your mouth and you were wrong"

Im gonna inspect my cam chain this weekend, just found out that the engine was built with the standard chain, not sure if it was original or just OEM replacement. and its a bit louder on the right side than left, not much but I heard thats a sign of cam chain. so better do it before it stretches too bad and I get some contact between piston/valves.
