does anyone know the valve clearance on the 05 400EX if I put a stage two cam and a stock bore 11:1 Wiseco Piston? I rebuilt it all and i forgot the vavle clearance... before i ride i want to get everything right... if you could help me out that would be great. thanks

I think it is .04 intake and .05 exhaust. Atleast that's what it is on my 99, but it's prolly different. do a search on here, there are threads that specify

thanks man, i think it's all the same, they only changed the body style, i think but i'll keep looking

Hotcams recommends .005 intake and .006 exhaust. I always ran that but slightly tight almost stock, to help eliminate the excessive ticking the hotcams are notorious for on those motors.... it didnt help. It will tick, but dont worry about it.

yeah, I adjusted mine a couple times. It will always tick. Go getting around it.

Loud valves are happy valves though!

thanks for the re-assurance, that's what caused me to rebuild my motor in the first place, plus the white smoke i was leaving behind me and all the oil going through the exhaust. I'll adjust the valves as soon as i get home from work... .005 and .006, thanks guys
