I keep forgetting about my cdi cover, I have to go sand plast it and then polish it.

Dont blast....it will "pit" the aluminum...I used sand paper to get the remaining paint off. (I forget which grits, I used, I just found some stuff in the garage...) Then I steel wooled it to get the scratches from the sand paper off....used a dremel in the where it says "HONDA". Then I busted out the mothers...once I had it pretty shiny, I brought it to school and held it on the buffer for about 30 mins rotating to various spots...

Sweet job man.. What do you guys put over all of your polished parts to keep from repolishing? Clear coat?

clearcoat won't stick to polished aluminium... if you polish it to a mirror shine. your best bet if you wanna clearcoat is to strip it with paint stripped and leave it the natural aluminium color. Thats what i'm doing with my bike. you can clean it up a bit by you need something for the paint to bond to
