I made the mistake of using the tapered side ONCE. I used a piece of wood on the inside of the wheel and hammered the hell out of it.

Studs may be bent too. My studs bent and the rim would get stuck on the quad every time.

Looks to me like he used the tapered side of the lug nut. If the hole is loose on the stud use the tapered side . If the stud is tight in the hole use the flat side.

You could try to put the lugs on a little and then ride around slowly to see if it will loosen up a bit.

i took a peice of wood.. layed it on the edge of the rim.. hammered it further onto the hub and it pulled off.. did it on my 6 lug car also..

Don't do any hammering on your rims. It isn't neces. Take a bottle jack and put it btw your tires. Use a piece of post or something on each end then work the jack and it will free them in a matter of seconds. Be careful you will be putting a lot of pressure on them and watch your hands. Slow and steady and you will not have any beat up rims or headaches.

I still say their bent. A rim should slide right off and on. If not teh studs have to be bent even if they dont look like it.

It's not bent, this happens when you use the tapered side of the nuts (stock) on most aftermarket wheels.

Your not going to ruin the rim any more than it already is. Oval mounting holes are better than a bent rim.

Well I run the exact same way and the rim always slides right off and on. Only time mine were stuck on is when my wheel studs were bent even though they looked perfectly straight. :scary:

If you are running an aftermarket aluminum wheel, similar to a douglas, and you run an acorn lug nut with the tapered part against the rim, it will, for a fact, squash the rim around the lug.

No question. It is not bent,he just used the taper side. Once you get them of, put some flat washers on, then lock washers, then regular nuts. That's what I use for my Hipers and have had no problems at all. When I did this to my 300EX I just used a rubber mallet and hit the tire and they came off.
