Is this place open, heard they closed it a few years back?

There are trails there in lyman an other parts that are legal, I'm pretty sure the pit is... off limits. People still ride there though, it's just finding a place to park, check out mainedirtbikes or.... maineatvs forums, theres a little info on it, but.. no one wants to give it up!

I went there a few times last year. Hills are still nasty as ever. Ther crowds of yesteryear are gone and that was the best part, showing off on the hills and dragracing anyone willing.

Dayton got shut down by the police because there were to many "visitors" parked up and down the road and causing a headache for the local home owners by riding up and down the road instead of using the trails that were right there. There were over 70 out of state vehicle parked on the side of the road the weekend the cops told the pit owner to do something or they would. Sorry, but my parking spot is going to remain secret. I do mii the days of having all the people there though.

jon, I know I've seen you somehwhere, maybe on atvmaine or something. Is there any way to access the pit from the dayton lyman trail system? Cuz, I know there's a club up there with trails but, didn't know if they went any where near the pit. Or, maybe I'm just thinkin of a different place, I'm sure dayton sand has more than just that place!

Does anyone ever bother you guys while your in there? Or was it just the stupid people ridin up the roads that got it shut down?
