falling off at top rev

My 05 450r basically all but dies when I get to the top of my rpm's in EVERY gear...i have changed the spark plug, pulled all the jets out of the carb and cleaned them, checked the float bowl...what else can I do?

Are you hitting the rev limiter?

ETA: I see you've got an aftermarket CDI. Try your stock CDI and see if the issue goes away.

i am having the same exact problems with my 05, by the way i did the same exact things to get it to run right. i think i am going to pay someone to fix it I AM SICK OF THIS THING. if you find a solution tell me and i will do the same for u.

clean air filter ?
can cause a rich condition which acts kind of like a false limiter

whats up fellas, had the same thing happen to my 05 and found trash in the petcock and in screen at carb inlet. dont know if this will help, but thats what i found on mine

I was told by a shop that it was the stator

why would i have to all of a sudden have to change my jetting

did you let the bike sit for a long time without running the carb out of gas? if so take the carb apart and clean it and clean the jets good.

LOL my quad never sits for more than a day without getting rode (hard). It was a bad stator!! covered under warranty by my local dealer/sponsor:devil:
