:confused: ive got a stock 04 400 ex my buddys got the same we run close 1st through 4th but in fith he pulls 4 to 5 bike lenths ahead of me both bikes are identical any ideas

you dont have enough power to pull 5th....all engines are different

what about the years. i think that from 1999-2004 2005-2007 models they changed the gears some

edit: it could also be, your gearing is geared lower on the counter shaft or rear sprocket.

yea i would like to know also ,i just got me a 440ex and would like to meet some people to go riding with.

thanks for your reply i live in varnado la. i guess i need more power lol i dont race on track just drag and ride on trails and sand bars at the river i got a gps and it only gains about 4 mph in 5th gear doesnt seem right thank you all for your reply
