my 400ex beat a raptor

i couldn't believe it i have a stock 400 and my friends neighbor has a stock raptor, well i was riding over there and the guy asked if i was ready to drag race it. i was like yeah, this guy always breggs on them raptors and says that 400s are slow, but so i went and raced him and he had me by about 2 bikes, and the length we raced was about 1/8th up a hill, well i couldn't keep the front end down. so i let my friend try, he has alot more riding experience then i do, and is an all around better rider than me, well he went down the hill with him, and they were neck and neck all the way up the hill and at the end my friend had him by a half a bike, i was like holy hel* it was great and the guy said he wasn't really racing, i was like OMG. and we asked if he wanted to race again he was like well i gotta be getting home, i thought it was freakin awesome. but anyways i think it was just a rider error by him, i still know that a raptor can beat a 400. well that i all i have to say.

There is no way a 400EX can stay with a Raptor in a Drag Race! Maybe in the hills but it just does not add up in a drag.

The Raptor is faster but, for having 260 more cc's than the EX, it sure seems to be slow. If Honda comes out with something bigger it's gonna be fast!!!

I know that the raptor is faster, but hopefully that guy won't keep breggin on that thing as much no more, yeah the bike might be fast, but apparently he isn't you know what i am saying, and it is pathetic that yamaha has to make such a bigger motor in their atv's just to beat a much smaller sized motor by a little bit.. i think that is just sad, and yes if honda comes out with something bigger then it is going to be very fast.

stock vs stock it is absolutly impossible that a 400ex will beat a raptor unless the person riding the raptor was heavily intoxicated :eek:

i have a 400ex with a 14 tooth front sprocket. My friend has a mostly stock raptor. We dragged and i got the holeshot and kept gaining a bigger lead untill he hit 5th. then he blows by me. he weighs 100 pounds more than i do so maybe that has something to do with it:D

I beat a newby on a raptor in a grass strip.. but then again, it was a newby,,, i personally dont like them... i agree that they arent powerful/fast enough to be a true 660. and the center of gravity is way to high which i dont like either. i would choose a good handling quad, over a fast one... buuuttt thats just me..

but u still have to consider, how well they jump, handle, etc.. but this is a powertrain section so u dont really have to consider it hear... haha

NO actually the guy on the raptor is only i am going to say about 160 lbs. he ain't but 5'8" tall. so that ain't it, i think he was just a bad and inexperienced rider, that is all, i would have had a better chance at him if i would have leaned all the way forward cuase i couldn't keep the front end down, my friend was the one that beat him by about a half a bike length, he ain't too good of a rider though.

He's telling the truth.I am the one that was riding his 400.We know the raptor is faster.That is a given.I was suprised to.The guy is pretty cool.he really thinks raptors are the stuff though.He always brags on them.There faster bla bla bla.

I just wish my R was togother so I could show them both a little ol 250 butt kicking!
