why do people talk like the 400ex is crap now??....I just don't get it like dirt wheeles talks so much crap on it now....and 2 years ago they where sayin it was the quad of the decade or somthing now its crap....

if u havent noticed dirtwheels and atv action are a bunch of over the hill, over weight non talented trail riders, in high performance shootout they pic the quad thats easier to ride, not the one thats better for high performance style riding such as mx, they picked the z over it cuz it was easier for thier lazier old asses to ride even though everyone could go faster on it, its a bunch of bull, they get excited over every new quad , they get so excited everytime a new quad comes out its the best one then after a month they realize its not as good as the other quads, liek the ds 650, quad of the year of 2001 and it was so great, a few weeks later thier puttin it down cuz they got a new quad thier fascinated with the only mag i buy is atv sport

Everything is like that. Go to a jetski site, a minibike site, a performance car parts site... it's all the same. only the newest is the best. It get's old. Just let it go in one ear and out the other.

A couple of years ago it was the quad of the decade for sure. Now it's kinda weak compaired to a lot of new stuff out. If you were going to race MX and wanted a new quad you'd buy a 450R or a FZF. If you want a 400 the Suzuki/kaw is a better deal with a better out of the box 400 motor and a lot better front suspention with the new piggy backs. Honda is nuts for raising the price on the 400ex just because they have reverse now. They will sell some because it's a Honda and there will be brand loayalty. If you were duning the Raptor, Banshee, YZF, and 450R are all better picks for new quads. Don't get me started on the 282ex, I mean 300ex. What place does that fill now? Don't tell me mid level either because the 250ex has filled that spot. Why go with a new 300ex when there are 400's on every block? Most people with a 282ex wish they had more power. I know that comes with everything but they are getting womped on by a lot of machines now. I like the 250ex, it fills a nice nitch. I love my 400ex also, I would never get rid of it. It is a sweet handling machine even though I was disapointed with it when I brought it home at first. Coming off of 250R's and LT's the power felt weak and it is weak. It just isn't the machine it could have been. I give honda credit though, at least they started the new sport era. It was destined to be trumped, the first ones alway are.

For some odd reason I thought about this post the other day. I remember when everyone was switching to cdale and talked Ben into making cdaleriders. Now even fewer people have an "EX".
