Stock wheels on my quad are silly wimpy - already tweaked both fronts. What's the most durable out there? Go steel or aluminum. Resistance to rock dents is top priority. Will sacrifice a bit of weight penalty.

The stock EX wheels, are prob. one of, if not the best aluminum wheels u can get, besides beadlocks or race wheels. If there is anyhthing out there that might be as strong, or stronger, ide say prob. DOuglas Ultimate standard weel. Its almost identical to the EX wheels. Maybe even a little stronger. They are a bit pricey though.

The Z wheels are identical to the EX wheels.
Both are quite strong.

get a .190 rim with dual reinforced rings. That should be real tough

Well, I've got about 10 hours on my Z, and already 2 tweaked fronts. Not a particularly rocky area - just an occasional rock.... but those wheels are WEAK!

Can the tire choice itself make the wheels less prone to getting tweaked? The stockers are only 2-ply, but most aftermarket are 4 or 6 ply.

FWIW, I do a combination of MX and trail riding. I don't get into the real rocky stuff.

By "identical", do you mean made by the same company. Exactly the same, or just similar in design?

How is this any better than, say, Douglas or ITP's?

Somebody got time to give me the lowdown on the differences between TYPES of rims being used on sport quads (e.g. reinforced, double reinforced, rolled lip, etc...)?

need i say more?

haha. well they are a little pricey. But i would say buy some 190's and get some rings welded on if your concerned about price. I don't like douglaus rolled ring's they look like stock, and the whole point of getting aftermarket is to look better and be stronger. not look the same and maybe be stronger

if u happen to have a rocky mountain catalog look it up it is called a tire pen. they come in red blue green and white and prolly a bunch of other colors

yep its a tire pen. I got it at the local Canadian Tire. You yanks wont no what that is. Its just a hardware mechanic type super store. And I traded for the rims and tires. So i can't really tell you the price. but there like 170 per rim new.

Get 190.'s with the rings. They ought ot work. I thought those Hiper rims might be indestuctable, but I have heard otherwise lately.
