I just installed a CS full system on my wifes 07' 400ex, and my clutch cable is laying on the header. It is melting the cable. Does anyone know how to fix this? Any help would be great. Here are some pic to better explain my problem.

That looks like a very tight fit so bending the little cable loop on the right side motor mount doesn't look like it's going to help much. Try that though, if you haven't it's worth a shot and worked for me when I ran a cable clutch.

You can also call up Motion Pro or Terry Cable and have them send you a longer clutch cable. That way you can route it down through the right side of the frame and completely avoid the header pipes altogether! This is how I have it with my Magura hydraulic clutch line, I like it much better than the stock cable running through the headers.

You can sort of see how I have it in this pic. I have a piece of blue air hose around the line to protect it.

a 300EX clutch cable is longer then the stock one on the 400EX that will do the trick ! Thats what I run on my 460 with a sparks exhaust !

Yup, I was trying to think of the factory one that is longer but the 300EX one is it! Go to your local dealer and pick one up.

You have to get a longer cable. I tried 100 different ways of tying it up and none of them worked. Go get the the longer cable before you ride it. I recomend terry Cable.

Dang that is a beautiful exhaust, I always hated that ceramic coated crap Sparks used to make!

Simply get a 300EX clutch cable that is longer and re-route it.

I read another thread that said its the 250x cable, not the 300ex cable. Do you guys have the 300ex? And does it fit right? The other thread shows the 300ex, but with adjustments. Here is the thread (http://www.exriders.com/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=288845&highlight=cable)

I used a high temp exhaust wrap on mine. I used to go through the cable alot! now I've had the same one for 2 seasons and no sign of changing it yet. I got it from the auto parts store. I bought the shiny stuff so it would look cool and it does!

i got this from curtis sparks racing, do a google search and it shouldnt be very hard. it is very loud, so i advise you to get the quiet core and the spark arrestor. i just got the quiet core and their is not that big of a difference. so far i love the pipe. once i get it to stop melting my clutch cable ill like it more.:blah:
