quick question

i am replacing the base and top end gaskets on my 400ex. I was marking the timing chain with a piece of tape so i could get the timeing correct and it fell down the timing chain hole. It's electrical tape and just a little piece. Is this a problem or wont it bother anything. I wouldn't like to take apart the rest of the motor.

Just pull off the left side of the engine, I would go after the tape if it were me. I would always be thinking "what was that? Could it be the piece of tape getting lodged in the oil pump, clogging?!"

I agree, these things are can take lost of abuse but a peice of tape on the inside can bring it down.

I agree too but wouldn't he want to remove the right side cover?
