FYI, dry weight doesn't mean "without fuel". The precise meaning of dry weight can vary manufacture-to-manufacture as does the honesty of the specifications. Typically "dry weight" means no fuilds at all. In many cases it means no fluids AT ALL (not just engine oil, and coolant, but brake fluid, shock fluid, and even non-sealed bearing grease). The dry weights given by the manufactures can wind up being more of a marketing point that doesn't translate into reality.

My CR250R is listed by Honda as 214lbs dry. I've weighed it ready to ride (but with a completely dry fuel tank) and it weighs 224lbs. It's stock other than handlebars and exhaust (both of which should be a little lighter than the stock parts). I've done similar comparisons on other Honda motorcycles with similar findings.

Dirt Rider magazine recently did a 450 MX motorcycle shootout and reported claimed dry weights AND actual measured ready to ride (except for empty fuel tank) weights. The spread between claimed dry weights and ready to ride, zero fuel weights was everything between 16lbs to 4 lbs.

i just heard that the weights from dry to full is,

yam. 350- 381 lbs.
kawi. 364- 392 lbs.
zuke. 368- around 390 lbs.
hon. 350- around 395 lbs.

does this sound about right to anybody?, i must say a few of those seem awkward but i got this from, a dealership (me and my brother were on a road trip and spotted some kawasaki place and while he bought some oil i asked another salesman what the weights were and he said he called some places and got these numbers, so i just took it for what its worth)

i got to say, after having a predator and a yfz, trying to clean them (lifting them on to the rear grab bar) i cant feel a difference in weight at all, i would be very suprized if the yfz bone dry was anything close to 350. the honda feels the lightest when you lift up the front end.

You just compared the weight of a YFZ to the weight of a Predator??????:eek2:

You are on some kind of drug my friend, no offense and I don't know if I read that wrong, but there is a HUGE difference in weight between those two quads! I throw out my back everytime trying to move around a Predator. YFZ is so easy to pick up and throw around.
