I have been in and out of my valves, buckets and shims. The guide will say intake.10 to .20 and exhaust will say .20 to .30 if you can get it between .10 and .15 on the intake and .20 to .25 on the exhaust shoot for that i have had a mechanic suggest that and it works well for me less noise and less adjustment later. If you check your clearance and it's not really out of range you will need to change your cam chain and tensioner (Highly recommended anyway) None of this is hard especially if you have a service manual, if for nothing else but torque specs, seriously pay close attention to the torque specs. and when you think you know what it is on a specific bolt check it again, I only say this because alluminum is a #&%&$ when stripped and or cracked not to mention exspensive. (Been there). You can get a service manual fairly cheap on ebay. or go cyclepedia.com and download it.
