I have $1000 to spent on mods.
I am looking for mostly engine mods.
So far I have a full fatboy4 exhaust jetted for no air-lid.

What would you recommend me getting done to make my 450r faster overall.

Note: I already know about the big bore 480 bolt on. (its really expensive which would take up a majority of the $1000.)

Update: Year 2005, No cam currently.

Do you have a cam? or what about a ignition box? and year of ride would be helpful!

Piston port and cam could be done for that price if you install yourself. PM chad502ex he can help you out.I had a JE 13:1 shelf piston Chads port work and the HRC cam w/FCR carb and I got 53hp on the dyno.Don't know what year your machine is but I'm sure 1000.00 will get you there.

i know you said about a 480 but nmotion has a 600 CC BIG BORE KIT yes i did say 600ccs, jsut think about the hp it will make and it would be a wise choice for that 1 grand

just my opinion

good luck with the 1000$ build

What kind of riding do you do? Unless you are just cruising in the dunes, or up and down the street, I would reccomend stock shock rebuilds. Then use the left over money on your motor.

Agreed. Suspension should always be the first thing you dump your money into unless you're strictly in drag racing and light dune riding.

DeRisi Racing and GT THunder have some good rebuild/revalve prices for your front and rear shocks.

Piston, cam, ignition, and porting.

You don't need a big bore to go fast! If you only go as far as more displacement you will gain little. The real benefits of the big bore aren't better seen until after you have already done the cam and other like componets.
