125 bike against a 400EX?

How would a 125 two stroke bike do against a 400EX? Like how much more power is there on the bike compared to a EX? I've read some posts on here and they all seem to say that a 125 will beat the 400 and hang with the 450's, but i would just like some re-assurance to see if this is right.

what you've read is correctomundoooo. a friend of my brother has a yz125 and a yz250f. needless to say, the 125 walks the 400s every time. my brother has raced the 250 on my dads 400.. he said the kid on the 250 stalled it and he had a perfect start, but his friend managed to kick it over and blow by him like he wasnt even moving. :eek2:

I ride a 250f and everything you hear is true on my bike i took a 400ex and killed him half way through the race i had time to let off and pop a wheelie. As for the 450r's they hang pretty darn close it almost come down to who makes a small mistake.

I was riding one of Honda's new crf150 dirtbikes in a giant onion field and we were all drag racing and such....smoked all the 450's...but then again I got on my YFZ and smoked them all again...

the 125s are actually faster then the 250fs on the top end... most of the 125s have a really long tall 6th gear compared to the 5 speed 250fs... i know i'd murder my buddies rm125 up to 5th gear then he'd catch up and slowly pull away...


i beat 400exs in 4th gear...

i never bothered to race a 400ex, no pun intended, they just arnt fast

On my 400 I've raced several 125's in the sand and I normally beat them about half way up the hill then they come flying by me...

400ex's aren't the most fun quads to drag race... :p If I want to do that I'll ride the 450 or hop on my cr250 and wax mostly everyone minus cr500s/fully built race quads.

I always hate comparing bikes to quads though.... they are totally different. =] I know I have beat 125's before on my 400 though.

i would love to have a 400ex and keep it 100% stock and never have to wrench on it and just cruise the trails

Thats what i thought too man, i had one. Costed me 1800$ to fix the motor. it jumped timing and ripped the cogs off of my crank gear. I musta had one of the lemons though.

so your saying a 150 4stroke bike can beat a 450 4 stroke quad? doesn't seem possible even with the wieght difference

i've heard they're stupid fast.

but a 125 and a 450 wheeler are about the same.

those lil 150s have a better power to weight ratio then the 450s do... why do u think they are illegal in the AMA classes..


if i was buyin a bike today to have fun on and mess around with it would be a CRF150

I raped my brother's 07 or whatever Yfz450 on my Yz, he had a few lenghts ahead of me and plus my bike stalled because I forgot to turn on the gas. :blah:

I wouldn't lie about something silly like a drag race...I only weigh 125-130 and am 5'7'' on a 150 that weighs half or less than the quad...the guys are heavier than me and the motor on the 150 or any other dirtbike is just a little bit more advanced then the quads and yes its a ripper...way faster than my old yz85 and much easier to ride even though I like two strokes :)

I had a bad *** 95 CR80 and i would put that thing up agenst any mini out today and any stock quad!
