Yep...ANOTHER jetting question

I just put a white brothers e-series full exhaust system on and now i need help jetting. its on a 2005 trx450r. I started with a 118main jet and a 48 pilot before the pipe and it ran awesome. i tried a 170 main and a 45 pilot with the idle mixture screw out 2.5 turns. It was a PITA to start but once it started it idled decent but not real well. When you stab the throttle it instantly dies. Stock except the pipe, lid on. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Put the 48 pilot back in.

Take off your Airbox Lid....or cut it like the HRC.

Add a 185 main jet.

06-07 R's use the 42-45 pilots, not the 05's.

Either put the 48 back in or go right to a 50.

Same with the main jet, go up to a 185 to start.
You basically have 06-07 jetting in your 05 :P

This is if you take the lid off or cut it.

thanks to those who have already helped. we're getting closer, i put the 185 main back in with the 48 pilot lid off. now, when i go from idle to full throttle there is a hesitation. what do i need to do to fix the hesitation?? THANKS

Put the lid back on, does it get better or worse?

Do you have an off-idle bog?

Does your exhaust pop on decceleration?

Does it feel flat thru the mid-range or on top?

Need a better description please :)

well i finally had some time today to mess with my bike, i put a 50 pilot in like d3ktrix said, left the 185 main jet, air/fuel screw at 2.5 turns still and ditched the lid all together RUNS LIKE A CHAMP thanks for your help, this site kicks ***
