whats the best way to get to galmis from phoenix ?haven'nt been there for about 18 years .i'm used to coming from san diego but not phx.i know it's I-10 but not sure if it's 78 or 95 i need to turn on thanks for the help..dave

Hey, I live in San Diego,

If 78 is near you or you can get to it, go that way. 78 passes right through Glamis, can't miss it.

glamis is only 2653.47 miles from my house one day i hope to make a road trip out there:)

HE!! YEA! I flew every mile to ride there this summer, it was GREAT! I more than got my money's worth. I shipped my banshee for $150 which was WORTH It. Heck, I woulda paid $500 to ship it down there......A LOT OF FUN! I'm tryin to come back to Yuma to ride at Glamis during xmas/new years....and If not that week, then Ill definitly come during SPring Break...Hope to see some of yous...:D

400thumper,

You are right, 78 is the best way to get there from Phoenix. You turn off at Neighbors Ave exit which is about ten minutes past the state line. Just got back today, there is a LOT of virgin sand south of Olds towards China Wall. It was incredible! It was almost worth the $4500 it's gonna cost me for a new tranny in my truck. It took me 7 hours to get home and my buddy took my trailer in Quartzite.:(

trx440 that sucks i hate breaking down on the way home from the dunes. i have a older motorhome always on the way home thanks for the help .dave

Im gonna be there the 18th thru the 21st. Man I cant wait. Has anyone heard anything about when or if they have already set the new rules yet? I sure hope they dont make a population limit!

fooracer i'm going to be there 21st thur the 25th .are ya leaving early to go home on monday ? if not maybe we could hook up for a quick ride b 4 you leave .where are you going to camp?have not heard about any new rules yet .you know the blm right before a big weekend they'll come out with them ..,,

Yeah i dunno, we'll probably go out for an early moring ride and then come back and get loaded up. who knows though. I dont know what the plans are for mon. yet so i'll pm you and let you know. I cant wait for the first dune trip on the R though!

If anyone's interested... We are all planning a trip Nov. 1-3... The Caravan will be leaving 6PMish from phoenix with some room in on the trailer if anyone wants to go! If you are there that weekend.. Look for the killer fireworks...

No i've never been to Gordons or Buttercup. From what i've heard though its pretty much the same as Glamis but hey i just figured that Glamis is so good why go anywhere else? Do you guys ever ride at speedworld or Canyon Raceway? I wanna find some good quad riders to go to the track with. Im not sure if i can go on Nov. 1-3. My birthday is on the 12th though so maybe it could be like a b-day gift from my parents. :D

We will be there from thur night till sunday. We will be at the very end of gecko road at the roadrunner campground. Look me up, we can go for a ride. I will be driving a tan ford ranger with a (dune atv) lic plate.

I used to ride Speedworld all the time on 2 wheels... Rode the quad track there once... It sucked.. You should check out the East valley track! It rocks..

As for Canyon, I thought quads were kind of taboo there...

Yeah I know that quad track at speed world sux but now its gone. They rerouted the mx track so the water wouldnt build up so much in some spots, replaced the quad track into a 3 1/2 mile long enduro style track, and turned the vets track in to the quad track. Which is even worse cuz the vets track is just flat out boring. So if I go I just i'll just have to wait until they open up the mx track to quads from now on. I've never been to canyon thats why i was wondering about if you could ride quads there or not, well not i know. Glamis is just 2 days away!

If you are looking into tracks and local riding info. Check out gomxracing.com... It has some cool info on tracks, a message board that puts you in touch with the track owners and builders..

Just don't call Dan M. a Fat Greedy *******.. LOL

Hey man Glamis was awesome! Sorry i couldnt meet uf with you dune surfer, I did end up have an early morning ride and i met old7 there just by luck but we wanna try and meet some more ex guys for tanksgiving so we'll have to get things rollin on a Glamis ride. I'll post pics once i get them scanded but they're not that good because of my dads "excellent" photography...
