Well i have a z with a stock motor and i was wondering if it would be fine to run a high compression piston that is 92 mm[416] with regular gas? And should i go ahead and throw a cam and chain in there?
please and thanks

You should be alright but if you get a compression ratio of 12:1 or higher I think you have to run race gas.

No problem running pump gas (92 or better) with 12.5/1. Remember that you need to replace the stock .27 base gasket with a .10 to get the true compression ratios.

The bore diameter has nothing to do with the gas you use. It is all in relation to the compression ratio you end up with. Also, if you are going bigger bore you have to have the cylinder replated so you should go 94 mm instead of 92. Ray.

pistons and base gaskets will make you scratch your head as to what you've got . I'm using a 13.5:1 piston stock bore but because I'm using a 3 layer gasket my compression is more like
12.6:1 . i use pump gas, premium 94 gas .
