Need elevation and temps. Also need any other mods you have and the year of your quad. I might suggest ordering 152 through 160 in mains and a 40 and 42 pilot adjust the needle to the middle, but thats if you got an aftermarket air filter and open lid. I'm at 502 feet above sea level average temps. Had a 160 main with the needle on the 3rd clip and a 42 pilot, but I have to go down to a 158 and a 40 due to the fact that my new airfilter doesn't pull air like my K&N did.

A Keihin 150 or 152 main should be all you need. Upping the pilot to a 40 will help if you have starting issues.

I got a ?? to.. Im running 5 discs and the quiet core on mine right now but plan to go to 12 or maybe even run it uncorked when i go to the races. How many jet sizes do yall think i should go up? Im thinking maybe about two or three to get me close. that sound about right?

the more discs you add in those pipes the more fuel they will draw through the engine so you'll need a bigger jet.

the fewer discs you need a smaller jet.

a friend of mine had a 160 main with the stock amount of discs and it was way too rich so we put a 155 in it with the stock pilot and it ran fine. But of course those settings will change with different altitudes.

Im at a 172k now with the 5 and the quiet core. So Im thinking maybe a 175 or 178k for 12 discs and a 180k for running wide open would be a good baseline to start with. Or would that be a bit rich??

in my opinion that is why i don't like the E-Series pipes b/c there is too many jetting concerns with them when you add and remove discs.

what i would do is leave the jet you got in it. try adding discs or removing them and see how the quad reacts to the changes.

what i do is listen to the motor at full throttle as i'm running up through the gears. if it boggs then it's running rich. if it make sort of a popping sound then it's lean.

Yea, you got a good point there. Run the discs how i want them and then take my time and adjust the fuel accordingly. I'll probably play around with 12 discs this weekend and see how close i can get it jetted, then when raceday comes around Ill go up maybe a size or 2 for running wide open..I would try to get it jetted for running wide open but I dont want to disturb the neighbors too bad.:cuss:
Thanks

naaa man the louder the better. lol. when they come out and say, hey it's too loud, revv it up and say what i didn't catch that and take off real quick.

Um the e-series is not designed to run wide open. you may actually lose power doing that. if you want a loud exhaust then buy the trinity stage 4.

Hey Im not looking for noise, just a lil more power with what I got;) .
I heard from a lot of people about not running them wide open but i wonder why? Quite a few other pipes have straight thru cores. Im guessing that the core on the e series is sized a lil larger for running the discs, and w/o them you might lose exhaust velocity because the core diameter is then too big. Kinda like running too big of an exhaust piping on a car.

Thats just my wild guess:uhoh:

i would probably say the same thing. running it wide open you probably lose alot of the back pressure that helps pull the exhaust out of the engine.

Some of us are a little more respectful towards others when it comes to making noise:)

I got a little question here to. I have a e-series with 6 disks and was wondering whether to go with a 150 or a 152 main. My 400 is a 2000. My elevation is around 1100 feet.

I aint had a chance to run it yet because I snapped my clutch cable.

that stinks :ermm: but yeah when you get the cable on if it runs good i wouldn't change anything on the carb.
