I'd recommend spending the money upgrading the front suspension:)

Ive got a stage 1 in mine i think its great. Very noticable power difference in bottom and mid end power, as for reliability ive had mine in for two years now and still running strong! That's the cam i'd reccomend to you since you trail ride, you'll get the extra power down low for climbing hills, and coming out of the corners a little faster.

I just recently dropped one in my EX...

Between that (Stage 1) and the full WB E-Series exhaust, it's like riding a completely different machine!

I added the LRD full system and the Hotcam Stg2 and the Jet Kit. It woke up the low end considerably!!!!!!! I am adding the 426 kit in 1 month!

Stage 1 is for lowend to midrange power, Stage 2 is more of a mid to topend cam. You'll get mixed answers of which cam to get if you're going to put in a 416. It's all on where you want your power, in my opinion since you ride trails and dont really use a lot of your topend power id stick with a stage 1. With the stage 2 you'll start seeing more of your power in midrange and topend.

I'm in the same boat and I'm still up in the air on which cam to use I have both and don't want to be swapping back and forth. When it gets put back together it'll be a 416 full exh and jetted. Mainly trails and some mud and wheelies. I really liked the low end on the stg1 oh well we'll see.

so i can run the 416 and the stage 1 and it wont affect my top end power/speed?

i put the stage 1 and 12.5-1 piston, holy sh*t what a difference. for a proper 416 usually a stage 2 is used. the 416 is made to be a high revving high hp kit, so it produces its best at top end. however using the stage 1 gives you the low end torque you need and the 416 gives the extra hp for the higher rpms. i would recommend getting a high rev cdi box as well, kinda helps let the demons out to play. just my .02

But with a 12.5 to 1 you can't run pump gas can ya?

Race gas is a must for 12:1 engines. And I agree with JOEX, you will ride alot faster on upgraded front shocks than a hot cam for sure.:)

I'll ditch the 450 front shocks shortly but I'm starting research on engine mods now.
