This is a long shot, but I was wondering if anyone has put a YZ426F in an Arens 250R frame? What all would need to be cut and relocated?? (I know motor mounts and stuff...and mounts for an oil tank.) Would you need a "split style" swingarm like on an EX/86-87 R?? MY friend may be able to get a motor cheap, and it may be our winter project...Any help appreciated...

Yes a yzf in a arens frame is possible. I talked to dave at east coast about it when i was down there. There is alot of cutting and welding to do how ever. It is easier to put a crf in a R frame however.

I would not recommend doing it. Just save up the money to buy the right frame. It will be worth the extra money in the long run. You can get a houser or herrmann for 2400.

a guy i know did a nice job putting his yz in his stock 400ex frame.....and it fits in rather well, just have to make a new head mount and new front motormounts. i would recomend using a 400 ex frame to save complications and money

ur life will be so much easier with a new frame instead of having to cut and weld and fabricate stuff.

Well the Arens frame is stronger than the EX,....and like I said, the bike is readily available, and this is a low budget project, but we do have most of the resources needed..... And it wouldnt be some backyard hillbilly conversion....our mechanics dad is a welder/fabricator, so All we would need to know is what to cut and where....
