am i close on jetting??

removed the choke, chm slip on, stage1 cam, uni filter. 160 mainjet, dynojet, 42 pilot jet. still breakin iin the cam. seems to have good power all around. when i really stab the throttle off of idle it kinda sputters a little but i think it did that stock. whats everyone think??? thanks

If you are using a Dynojet adjustable needle with a keihin main jet I bet that's your problem. I had the identical problem until switched to a stock keihin adjustable needle. If you still have your stock needle installed than try lowering the clip to the next slot on the needle.

well i did a little more messing around i went to adjust the needle and it only had one slot on it! dont know what kind that was but i put another one i had in it and set the clip in the middle. im also at the same 42 pilot jet, and 160 main i think i need to go one size bigger on the main jet cause it cuts a little bit when i stab the throttle, i am using a dynojet jet kit. thats for the help hornet!

You will always have that "stubble" with a dynojet needle and keihin main jet combo. The Dynojet needle is made for Dynojet main jets. You neede to switch to a 1999 to 2004 stock (adjustable) needle.

i think it may be the stock needle out of my old carb, ill know tomorrow, i have to adjust the valves and such, still not that much faster than my sisters 03....
