Just figured this would be a cheap alternative to new a arms. Wont these fit on the 400ex with little to no moddification.

I would assume so. I have 400ex arms on my 250r so I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Need a set???

i believe the 250R a-arms are wider at the pivot points than a 400ex and you need to shave them down. My buddy put 250R a-arms on his 400ex and had to shave them down at the pivot points....what would be the advantage of putting 250R a-arms on? are they +1 or +2's or something like that?

I do want a set but am low on cash so they will have to wait a little while.

Supposedly the '86-'87 250R a-arms have wider pivot points. I have a set a-arms off a '89 250R on my EX and they fit right in. I have heard that stock 250R arms will widen a 400EX almost 2" total but I looked into it and it was pretty much even width.
