yes that is true, but one of the new Apex riders was a previous Polaris rider. This boy raced for over a year on his polaris and never broke a tranny. He has had his Apex for 3 weeks now and is on his 4th tranny.

I am not trying to sound so negative about the Apex,
I am also interested in getting my son one, but I don't want to go out and buy one until the tranny problems are solved. We just haven't seen them perform. We have raced with them and never seen one finish a race. 3 Apex riders all broke trannys.
And some more aggressive than others. But they still all had the same problem.

I bet he rides his Apex harder than his Polaris too. It depends on the riders size as well as ability. A 95 pound kid is going to be harder on the bike than a 55 pound kid. They may not be replacing the inner needle bearing after every set of gears the bearing is the reason for the failure.

apex, kasea, drr, eton, polaris and a few more all the same cases and same trannies except for output shafts. i cant count how many we broke on our eton before we put a tranny saver on it.

Will the new radiator and tranny bushing be installed in the 07 model? I guess what I'm asking is, when?

how can you tell that you get one of the new shippment of 90 or get an 06 model as an 07 you never know????? might look at the vin when are they coming?????

The 06 models have drum frt brakes is the biggest way to tell the 06 from 07. also the 07 has anti vib stem and disc brakes. Just some minor ways to tell them apart.

Retro,
You need to open the bleeder and add coolant untill just coolant come from the bleeder NO air. We are in FLA aswell with no over heating problem you must have an air pocket.

Thanks I did that but like you said must have air in it. he has running it hard, and she started to bubble. the last time that happened i thought i had fixed it it was the tube going down in the bottle had fallen off.

Insure that your water pump is working. You can do this by filling the system with coolant, remove the bleeder and rev it up. If it spits coolant then your pump is cycling.

The next problem it may have is the O-ring in the head. We had some made that were slightly larger and they have worked out great for us with no failures.

thanks for the help, seems like its working good now. filled it back up and when I open the bleeder,I had some air and I kept doing this until coolant came out. Ran it down the road and everything seems ok. seems like it didn't happen all the time, the kids were out back riding it and it didn't have a problem. Then the next day we are out in the forest messing around in the sand and coolant bottle fills up and starts bubbling over. any other things I need to check?

Next would be pull the water pump apart make sure the impeller has all its fins and or when it gets hot the impeller spins on the shaft.
