Well i figured it wouldnt be long after the VT incident that some other mindless attention starving idiots would do something like this.
I write to update you on the emergency situation we are facing. We deployed information last evening via our text messaging system and a posting on our Web site, but we are now able to share more detailed information with you, which is also posted on our Web site homepage.
Adler Building will remain closed until at least 8 a.m., Friday morning, 4/27/2007.
At a press conference at 10 a.m. this morning (4/26/2007) the following information was disclosed:
* A suspicious letter was received late in the afternoon on Wednesday, 4/25/2007, at approximately 3:30 p.m.
* The letter referenced a threatening activity to occur in the Adler Building in the very early hours of Friday morning, 4/27/2007; a time at which the building would be closed and unoccupied.
* The letter has been turned over to the proper authorities and is being tested for forensic evidence. The investigation is ongoing.
* The college’s emergency response team was immediately assembled and its Emergency Response Plan was initiated.
* Campus police coordinated their response with University Park police and state police.
* The building was immediately evacuated, locked down, and swept twice for any threatening devices; both sweeps uncovered no threatening devices.
