Does anyone know if you can purchase a complete new engine from honda? If so how about pricing? I have a major rebuild and I am weighing my options.
Thanks for any help.

Damn, you would be better off to buy a brand new quad, use the motor, and part the rest out:p

From what I was told at the Stealership, they only sell crate engines at certain times.

ask Cliff at CT3 to check into it for you. he might have something to offer.

Cliff built my last engine and will rebuild it when time comes. My rubbermaid container of parts is there now. I am just trying to way out options because of tranny issues and 3 years of racing has put on my old engine.
As little as my old engine had done to it, it stood its ground against high dollar engines at the 2 local nats the last 2 years. I take CT3's advise and go from there. If you are in or around the area and don't use Cliff I am sorry about your misfortune.

Also you may not have known Cliff is the Don of the MAFIA! He may not be riding at the moment, but he will definatley be back.

When I had crank bearing issues with my quad the dealer couldn't get a new engine so they had to buy all the parts and they pretty much built a new engine.

I can get one from my dealer for 2500. Typically a rebuild will cost around half that unless you need too replace cases and all the gears. I say that you rebuilt the one you have it will be much cheaper. I do all my own work though so you will be paying more and labor.

Well my problem is upon tear down I found one of my seats in the head cracked, so its cheaper for a new head than to put in new seats which also includes new valves and springs, its time for a new chain, a new 14-1 piston, one side of the crankcase, balance shafts, a few gears, a new clutch and all the other misc. pieces that go with it. So I am just price comparing. I know someone who in the last couple months has split cases 3 times because of different issues and it makes me wonder how much cheaper is it to rebuild? When it has become this expensive already.

When my 05 took a crap i did a complete rebuild of the engine and it cost me 1100 total for all the parts.(thats also including having head work done as well) Lucky for me my bro can rebuild engines in his sleep. so there was no labor cost in it.

That was 5 months ago and the engine is still doing great.
