Has anybody used a ss bolt kit. I found one on ebay that is 465 piece kit for $75. Sound good? I just wonder how good the quality is. Does anybody know where you can get a OEM bolt kit?

I bought a bolt kit on ebay from that guy that has all the model specific kits. This was for an 85 ATC. The kit was pretty good. The bolts and nuts were all high quality.

The majority of the bolts where allen head instead of the original hex head found in most locations. Sometimes that was good, sometimes I'd rather have normal bolts--just depends on the location. Also the head and cylinder nuts weren't the standard (12mm and 14mm, I think) sizes. They were 13mm and 17mm if I'm remembering right. Not a big deal but it did require me reviewing the tools in my tool kits to make sure I still had what I'd need.

The kit came in a bunch of sealed bags labeled with what they were for. Mostly the labels were accurate but there were a few bolts that didn't belong and a few that didn't seem to be there. I didn't use them all anyway though so I just mixed and matched for what I needed. I did use most of them.

I'd prefer all new OEM bolts but the kit I bought was a fair deal.

he also owns a nice 250R that he uses the kit on.
it came bagged but they arent labeled....but its not like you cant figure out where the bolts go.

i was also wondering about the stainless steel bolt kit. I want to put high quality bolts and nuts and such on my 250R. Is that stainless steel one still on ebay?

i've heard of people having problems with the stainless kits stripping out. Stainless bolts arent very hard. They dont seem to hold up to stress as well as a hardned bolt will.

I've bought one of these bolt kits also. Mine came from "fastener guy" and everything was labeled. The kit he has for the TRX 250R is for 86-89 so you will have some bolts left over. The only thing not included is the swingarm bolt and reed cage for some reason. I understand the swingarm bolt but not the cage. I bought new Honda nuts for the head and cylinder.

the stainless bolt kit is fine and all but, i would NOT reccommend using the ones for the suspension (atleast not for the rear shock assembly) the front a-arms should be ok.

I found one that is oem style but it doesn't have as many pieces. Anybody know where you can get a whole oem kit?

That reminds me, the one from fastener guy does not come with the bolt for shock to linkage, linkage to swinger and linkage to frame.
