i am wanting to build a very high horse power motor. maybe like a 580 or somekind of big stroker. who does good head work and how is it possible to make around 65 horsepower?

And what's the purpose of this engine?

How will you achieve 580? Last I knew 530 was supposed to be the max size, though it was broken with a 550, and I dont think you can really go much bigger than that.

nmotion makes a 564cc big bore and stroker

but if you dont care about the money put efi on it and turbocharge it on top off the big bore and port and polish it along with a stage 3 cam with a 15 to 1 piston :D

that should put you alot over 60 some hp

building high hp is easy enough... my 530's are laying down 64hp/43tq and my 530 on a turbo can put down over 120...

this motor is intend to be a drag race bike. there are a couple of ltr450s in my town and they think that they are going to dominate for this year. i must have been mistaken but i thought the n-motions kit was a 580. i currently own an 05 450r with a esr480 kit. i have heard that the 06s are cappable of being much faster than an 05, plus i dont want to chop up my trail bike and make it unreliable. i plan on starting this build in around june/july.

thanx everyone!

another couple of questions i have are pipe and carb questions. i was thinking on either a rossier or a dasa pipe. as for the carb im clueless. in my town everyone runs the fcr but i have also heard alot about the lectron. the bike will be running a alcohol/nitro combo.

go over to the planet sand website and read up there, they are die hard drag racers

good luck pushing 65hp and having reliability.

60+ is prob. more than the trans/btm end etc can handle with out some mods.

there are some 450r's on nos that really impress.

i am not really to worried about reliablity. will the trans. not withstand 60+ horsepower? i need to find a carb to feed such a motor.

04-05 trans will hold the 06-07 trans are made cheaper pretty much so they dont hold up to teh high hp

what about a trans then? how will i make the 06 trans hold up? is there any performance companys that specialize in make good trannys?

throw a turbo and nitrous on that trx600r and that mother fcker would be bad as.:D

If you can't use nitrous, it's fairly easy to bolt together a motor that will make the 65hp mark. Size isn't everything, but it helps.

Suggestion for a pure race motor would be the Max Power 522 kit at about 14:1 and some good porting from a well known and respected builder - DASA, Rage, Kenz... A good cam such as the Web 493 or HC3 will work with that. Modded clutch to hold the hp. The trans will hold, but Rage can mod the trans for ease of shifting and better gear holding. Other good builders can do that too.

Why Max Power? Because the kit is based on a 100mm CP piston. It's light and can rev very well. It also has a better cylinder with a forged aluminum liner.

I believe DASA also has a cylinder as well - you can ask them for details and compare to others you find.

It will also be fairly reliable. You can't expect to make a ton of power

If you can use nitrous - then build a basically stock motor with trans and clutch mods and away you go.

Here's the dyno chart from my 2006 Trx522r. This was dyno'd today at Rossier Engineering. Mods are Max Power 522 Ice cube engine kit installed by them. Mx porting, Ti valves, Web 493/729 camshaft, VP C12 fuel, Rossier Pipe stock carb, and full airbox with Prodesign filter kit. I think 61.5hp and 41+ torque isn't too shabby. Add a 208/921 cam, more agressive porting, bored carb, and maybe U4 fuel perhaps 65+ hp for the drag race types. I've been very happy with the MaxPower people through the whole process too.

those are defaintely impressive numbers. wat u did there is almost my exact goal to achieve. i still wanna be able to ride the dunes a little bit. im not really worried all that much about reliability tho.
