well just like the title says, my 450 keeps blowing fuses at the turn of the key. it happened a few days ago when i went to start it. i have the nuetral saftey swtich disengaged also just for reference. i thought i was in nuetral but i wasnt so i hit the start button and it lurked forward a few times then stopped and i had no power. fuse blew, no big deal i put in the spare but it blew again. since then i changed out the battery with a spare and checked the ground wire and it still does it, and i am lost. could i have fried my cdi or some other electrical piece? just need a nudge in the right direction, thanks.

Check for any disconnected cables/plugs, it may have grounded on the frame and blown the fuse.

ive checked all of the wiring and everything is intact from what i can see, yet it still consistantly blows fuses.:(

alright i jumped the cylanoid and it fired right up, is it possible that this thing is fried and needs to be replaced?

wires might be touching somewhere

Check the wiring around the headlight. The same thing was happening to me awhile back on my 400 whenever I turned the quad on or turned on the lights. So I checked all the wiring, found nothing, and it hasn't done it since :)

The yfz450's are none for the key switch shorting out. Find a buddy with a yfz and trade switches with him and see what happens.

buddys bike has done the exact same thing for weeks.....figured out the key problem but continued to pop fuses??? he has an aluminum air box and a wire was exposed touching the box poping the fuse(so we thought) and the problem ending up being a wire on the spark plug boot exposed????? his would start then idle but blow the fuse when revved???? then it went to blowing when turning the key?? we'll find out tomorrow if its "fixed"

also check your motor mounts for any cracks:devil:
