i like to ride in the rock dumps, trails ,a little sand that is only like a inch deep if you stay on top ,wet trial riding, the hills at the sand place is like a hard packed clay i ride the road about one a week for like 500feet climb alot of loose hills at the dumps

i want a tire that is not going to wear much dont for get it spains on the trials when you just tap the gus because of the biggun

my 300ex has a biggun slip on,k&n and a six pack rack

I have had many 300ex's for many years and had lots of different tires...and the best by far are the 22x7x10 6 ply pure sports bandits for the front.......and 20x11x9 holeshot 4ply rear...dont get bandits in the rear or 6 ply holeshots they are way 2 heavy for the 300 and bog it down...i have ran many harescrambles with this setup including an hour and half 2day on a slick and rocky track and never had a flat...

i have bandits and there not good in everthing and there not bad in everything, there about 20 lbs each, in other words they rob power and they really dont have good traction

get the 4 ply razrs for the rear. 20"X11" That's what I got. they're plenty tough and lighter than the 6 plys. Get razr fronts too.

2 pounds per tire is ALOT

four pounds? soo if u eat a lot for breakfast and put on all your riding gear that 7 or 8 lbs is a lot? 4 pounds i dont really think will make a difference in noticable power especially if the power is getting to the ground faster

four pounds is alot when you're talking about rotating mass. If it were just a matter of gaining 4 pounds like you said then I agree it's not much. It takes alot of horsepower to rotate the tires and the more they weigh the harder it is. Think of your wheels/tires as a bowling ball. The heavier ball you use the harder it is to get it into motion. If you're used to a heavy ball then pick up one of the ladies balls you could probably throw it down the lane with tremendous speed. It's kind of the same because in both cases you're trying to get a mass to both rotate and move forward. we're also talking about a 300EX here which doesn't have a whole lot of power to begin with. Every little bit counts when you're talking about rotating mass. I'd say that when it comes to tires OUNCES are important and you guys are saying that 4 POUNDS is not much! I couldn't disagree more.

You want to keep in mind that 95% of aftermarket tires are heavier than stock. Chances are, you gonna feel the extra weight. Ive got Pure Sport Bandits and I dont recommend them for your machine. I bought a set of em with mine was still stock. I could feel the extra wieght. Although, they do hold up better than stock. Im gonna get a set of stockers next time around. Id advise you to do the same.

Good luck and let us know what you decide on.

Red,
Those tires even LOOK heavy! But I bet they never wear out. Man those are some huge headlights! Does that extra weight of those lights make your quad nose dive on jumps?? LOL just kidding!
