i would just take that 3800 and buy a 450.
i dont know about where u live but around hear u can get one for 3600-4000

if you can get an 05 400 ex with all that after market stuff for 3600 - 4000, you better buy that up quick, thats a steal!
p.s if you buy it change that crappy purple oil out of it :) :D

i would buy it. i bought a STOCK 05 last year, for 4800 before out the door. i know the exhaust itself cost a pretty penny. but thats only my .02

i would test ride it, look it over real good. look at the oil. if everything checks out ok then i'd buy it :)

Personally i'd probably would not like the 12:1 compression ratio because any thing really over 11: 1 you would want to run race fuel and i don't know what your money situation is but plan on spending more for the optimal fuel that it may need to run properly I'm assuming it does not run off pump gas, and if you do run pump gas in it you may just as well lower the compression ratio and run a 11:1 on pump gas rather than the 12:1 on race fuel,other than that its a hell of a buy just consider the octane rating,i personally would not run a 12:1 piston on pump gas, id find out if the owner now runs pump gas or race gas, this is just my opinion but I'm sure anyone with a half of a brain would agree that you don't run 12:1 on pump gas other than that like i said hell of a deal,and check her out good their may be a reason its being sold so cheap.PS YOU DONT RUN ROYALE PURPLE IN AN ATV SORRY YOUR CLUTCHES WILL SLIP OVER TIME.GOOD LUCK Woody845

Yeah also with the 12:1, you would want heavy duty head studs, as well as a heavy duty rod. Just to be on the safe side.

This is my 400ex. as for the piston, race gas is not needed, maybe once summer rolls around but i plan on mixing 93 with race. i have put about 12 hours of riding or more on it since all the motor work and no problems. Whats all this talk about royal purple being no good??

In any case, not that i really want to sell it i just need some cash.
