I noticed that my clutch is shuttering when I take off from a dead start. There is hardly any slippage when letting out the clutch but it is not slipping while under a load and riding. What I mean is that while taking off the clutch seems to either engage or disengage. I did try the honda trans oil (RED BOTTLE)on one race and I switched back to my normal oil. That was a couple races ago though. Its it time for a new clutch?Did the honda trans oil hurt the clutch fibers? It fills just like a auto clutch thats been wet with oil. I havent pulled the cover and checked it yet.

Sounds like the "fingers" on your clutch basket are notched or you have a broken fiber.

Considering where you are, I'd go to Honda / Yamaha of Troy.

I'd say your steal plate are warped. I've had that happen. I doubt your basket is hurt. I've seen 250R's that were 10 years old running on the original basket. The clutches on the Hondas sucks now and always has. Just put new plates in it. If the basket is bad, you'll see it when you are pulling the old plates out.

I think he has already stated that the basket is worn.
