Well I went riding this past Sunday and it was a perfect day, 75-80 and sunny. Me and my cousin decided to practice for racing for next year and at the 45 minute mark my front brakes decided to stop working. I pulled over and looked and it snapped right off of the front right brake caliper!! They were stainless steel galfers too. But I also bent my tie rod to but yet i didnt hit a tree or anything. Maybe it was a big root? I am still not sure. But here are some pics of my damage so far anyway. This 400ex is a tank, 1 year on it and this is the first of my trouble :)

This a pic of a straight tie rod

You might could try putting another jam nut on there, since there is so much thread sticking out. That may keep the next one from bending in the same spot. But, on the other hand, it may be too strong then.

Doesn't the tie rod thread onto the tire rod end? If so looks like you bent your tie rod end

The picture just makes it look like that, It is definantly the tie rod. And scro i will have to try that next time.
