Has anyone heard of a 440EX needing as high as a dynojet 180 main jet?

The reason I ask is because I did another plug check after a 10 second long 5th gear run at wide open throttle.

This time a had the dynojet 175 main in and when I pulled the plug, it looked like I could go richer yet.

Also for the first time today, I got a little backfire after playing around at part throttle for about 2-3 minutes. This means I need a richer part throttle setting right?

I'm at sea level and I run 100 octane race gas.

Thanks, Steve.

Never seen the k&n jet kit but does it come with a new pilot jet? The pilot jet only controls starting and very low throttle but keep in mind that at wide open throttle the pilot circit is still working so a larger pilot jet will slightly affect your W.O.T. mixture. Try a 42 or 45 kehin pilot jet.

race gas makes a plug burn white, fyi

also, try the 180, if it bogs, drop back down

If your at sea level Yes you probably will need a larger jet.
