View Full Version : Does any one out there know if i can use a 400ex steering stem on my 450R

I own a 05 honda 450R and run national TT and im trying to save some Cash flow... I have a steering stem in one of my 400ex's, its a LoneStar Anti vib plus 1"... will this work i tried to cross refrence it on Lonestars site but i couldnt find part numbers it would be greatly apreciated if ya'll knew anything about it

that blows... they look kinda close does the ex one not clear the bottom mount on the R?

Thats funny considering burgard sells 400ex stems as his 450R ones.


Im sure they will bolt up, but I never understood them being close in heigh, because the 450R stem is a lot more layed back than the 400ex one which is more vertical, but they definitely sell them like that, because anyone with a burgard stem on their 450R has had to get 400ex stabilizer mounts to make it work on their stem. I also believe that the stem bushing up top needs to be a different size (the 400ex size) and I think the 450R burgard stems come with the 400ex stem bushing to make it work. I know others have done this, maybe somone else will chime in.

batavia... I say if you have both, try it out and let us know how it works, Im in the market for a new stem, and would definitely find that information useful!

ya i had some spare time this after noon and checked it for myself and it wouldnt fit the bottom is the same but the top doesnt fit but if i could find like some kinda of rubber peice thatl fit in there it could work! and make use of a 400$ part thats laying around
