I've read everything and heard everything about building an 04/05 450. I haven't really seen much about the 06/07's. They come with an FCR carb and I guess you don't have to change to the CRF ignition so is there anything other than replacing the piston, a port/valve job, cam, and pipe that is done to them? I've heard you can get 60 horsepower at 450cc's out of the older motors if you want to take out a loan. What do you even look for out of the newer motor's?

06/07 mods are about the same, cam/port/intake/exhaust/and cut the green wire.
you get more stock compression but bump to 14:1 will help

60hp is alot, prob more than most could really use

you trying to deside on what to build ?

Trying to decide if I even want to. I can handle as much power as I can get out of a 450. 60 wouldn't be too much but I'm not planning on spending that much money. I figured 50-55 would be reasonable. I would like to know what I could expect from that motor.

With DRG porting, bladwin piston, web 943 cam, taper board carb, vavles, crank, Dasa pipe, Dyna ignition, DRG filter, we hit 54hp and change.
