Just wondering if anyone has successfully painted their engine and not had a problem with it due to heat, chemicals, etc? What did you you and how long has it held up for?

i painted my engine a little over a month ago, and granted i cant ride as much as i used to with school and all, but so far its holding up great. the only thing i need to do is add something to catch the gas from the hose from the carb since it spills while doing wheelies. it hasnt done anything yet, but it probably will. id recommend it. heres a pic and the old thread.

mothers mag/aluminum polish and a lot of wet sanding. instructions are also in the link i posted. however, with the heat produced, it turned kinda brownish purplish right where its attached to the head.

That looks great! I like how you sanded the fins, and the carbon fiber heatshield looks great! Kinda jealous!;)

Carbon fiber....just one of the perks of working at HMF.......

I painted this motor about 2 years ago. Here's some shots of it fresh.

I used Eastwood hi-heat black and it has held up pretty well. I don't like the low gloss though. I think any reputable hi-heat paint will be OK. I personally prefer PJ1 engine and case paint...PB
Here it is now.
