On the 06 Z's, im pretty sure that the spark arrestor is tac welded on. I could take it out on my 05 that I used to have, but when we tried to on my dad's 06, it was rtac welded from factory.

i took a 2" holesaw and cut the sparky out. if you have holesaws...just use one that fits snug inside the chrome end cap outlet and whallah..sparky gone. it sounds better to remove the entire endcap...but looks like crap

Why remove the spark arrester? How much restriction can it be. Some places require it. I ride in a national forest and they do. I had to buy one for my FMF

believe it or not, the sparky is a big restriction. i ride state parks here, and theyve never chacked or asked about having one.

Like the other guys said, take off your air box and go to your local atv shop and get a few jets to test out for the best setting. Also, the actual spark arrestor is welded in, but the tip just comes off with 3 allen screws. I toke mine out, cut off the spark arrestor with a hand saw, took off my air lid, and rejetted. I saw a noticeable diiference in low-end power. Taking off your air lid does add low end power!
