2005 /2006 450R head

Is a 2004/2005 450R head compatible with a 2006? we're trying to build up a spair parts ben for race season and i think i found a deal with a 2005 head and wondering if i ever had problems with my 06 to switch it out?!?!

I have heard that it will not work. I wanted to do the same thing and I was told that they aren't compatible. I forget why exactly.

Can't do it, the piston/head/cylinder, etc., all changed in the '06 year. Even the gaskets are different!

The engines are difrrent, The 06 TRX450R is based on the CRF450 05 model
Also i think 1 is comes from china and the other from USA is what i,m led to believe
Its a good chance 08 model will be diffrent again
