View Full Version : s/o-headpipe = leak

i have a full procircuit t4 system on my 400ex and where the header meets the s/o i can feel a little bit of air coming out when i wrap my hand around it and hit the throttle. how do i fix this? also will it cause any damage/ thanxs

Its not going to hurt anything its just more of an annoyance. Mines got a slight leak on it too. Im not sure if you could put some rtv sealant on it or not though?

RTV wont hold up on a four stroke exhaust such as this, actually just riding it usually helps to seal it. The heat expansion will eventually seat the two surfaces together.

I like the look of the exhaust wrap. Wrap it to the silencer and it will help. i had the same problem and the other guy is right about the rtv stuff wont hold up. it will eventually seal up with expansion and carbon build-up.

the whole point fo the no copper seal or gasket is because tjust clamping it as tight as possible when cold and then heating it up seals it completely, the pipe will expand with heat and seals RIGHT up just tighten the tbolt or what ever clamp it uses as tight as you can when its cold

I always use a dab of Ultra Copper.
