need help on hrc kit

i have an 05 450r and im thinking about buying an hrc kit from a guy i know...i believe it is an 06 hrc kit because it comes with a header...i was wondering if i could install this kit on my 05

i have heard that only the 06/07 will only work on the 06/07.

But, if you did get it, the cam would probably be the only truly fuctional thing in the kit with the exception of the exhaust which may work with a little mods (different bends). I have no idea if this would affect performance or not. Keep in mind also the cam will be bottom end biased rather than top.

The CDI harness would not work nor would any carb componets (or smaller tuning related parts). I have no clue about differences muffler wise, I have not tried it, or really looked at it to be honest. I know there are differences muffler wise.

Basically, it is not worth it. You are gonna end up with alot of parts going to waste which you are gonna have to replace with parts designed for your engine.

From experience, there won't be very many parts from the 06 that will fit your 05, if any. I have an 05 and my dad has an 06 and we did the HRC kits back to back. His parts were totally different than what came in my kit. The 06 HRC kit has so much more to it. I've actually tried an 06 HRC header on my 05 450R and they are alot different than you would think.
